Pen Plan Parlour is an interactive workshop for children to speculate on the city of the future – 50 years on – and how they’d like to live, play and work. Designed by March Studio and curated by Fleur Watson, the workshops, run over two days explore themes of sustainability, urbanisation, population, densification, and – most importantly – fun.

Children will interact with a custom-designed scale timber model of the Brisbane CBD – configured as flexible building blocks and supplemented with creative materials – allowing them to re-configure the city into their vision for the future.

Children will be assisted to engage with a design thinking process by working alongside leading Unlimited designers and mechanisms such as inspirational imagery, mentoring and drawing techniques. Alternatively they can simply enact their own visions with encouragement from their peers and have an interactive experience.

All children should wear sensible clothing for the workshop and must be accompanied by an adult.
